The Fundamentals

This course introduces shooters to the core skills needed for success in action shooting sports. Students will focus on stance, grip, sight alignment, trigger control, movement, and stage planning. Emphasis will also be placed on movement, stage planning, target engagement strategies, and maintaining speed without sacrificing accuracy.

Whether you're new to competition or looking to sharpen your fundamentals, this course blends classroom instruction with live-fire drills to build confidence, consistency, and match-ready performance.

  • Firearm safety and range protocols

  • Fundamentals of marksmanship (stance, grip, sight alignment, trigger control)

  • Drawing from the holster and target acquisition

  • Recoil management and shot-to-shot recovery

  • Target transitions and movement techniques

  • Stage breakdown and planning fundamentals

  • Balancing speed and accuracy under pressure

  • Common match rules and scoring basics

  • Dry-fire drills and effective practice routines
